We invite you to a special event to witness the showing of the short film ‘Open Doors’ together with director, Becky Taylor Hellwig and connect with inspiring women from all over Saxony. This event is also an opportunity to network and find guidance in discovering your Next Steps in your career or life in the city.
Learn more about the director, Becky Taylor Hellwig
Born in 1975, Becky studied sociology with a focus on community change at San Jose State University, Silicon Valley area. Since 2007 she has devoted herself to the topics of human rights, social and women's politics, domestic violence, integration and people with disabilities.
In 2016 she moved with her family to Germany in the district of Mittel Sachsen. In rural areas she discovered that issues such as migration and integration are difficult tasks.
Consequently, Becky explored the causes of this situation and dealt intensively with the issue concerned. Her first film with Eden Nares "Open Door" was made.
Post the film, Becky will give a talk and open up discussions for the group on interesting topics. Learn more about the film below.
About the Film
Insecurity, mortal danger and the longing for peaceful coexistence. Three refugees tell their story and show us their will to survive by leaving, being left behind and arriving somewhere uncertain. A tale of courage, hope and trust in a new beginning.
